STUDIO UMBER is a fictional design studio built as a portfolio demonstration by Studio Super-Hi. Every project, client and image on this site is invented, and no real firm is depicted.
Common questions
Do you work outside New York?
Yes. Most commissions are in the city, upstate or on Long Island, and we take work further afield when the schedule allows enough visits to do it properly.
Will you take on a single room?
Sometimes. A single room works when it can be done completely — joinery, furniture, lighting and art together. We are less useful when asked to choose one sofa.
How do you charge?
A fixed design fee agreed at the start of the scheme, then procurement handled at cost with a stated margin. Everything is set out in writing before work begins.
Can we buy KIN pieces?
KIN is made in small batches and is not stocked or sold online. Write to the studio and we will tell you what is available and how long it takes.
